Keynote: Summoning the Demon

Elon Musk asserts we are 'summoning the demon'.  He claims that AI is 'our biggest existential threat'.  Other luminaries like Bill Gates and Stephen Hawking agree with him.  However, Mark Zuckerberg counters, "People who are naysayers and try to drum up these doomsday scenarios... I actually think it is pretty irresponsible."

 

Who is right?  What should we do about it?

 

This session explores possible futures for the human race and the super-intelligence to come, from an AI-enhanced human paradise on Earth to the ultimate extermination nightmare.
