Yolanda Davis

Yolanda M. Davis is a Software Engineer/Architect with nearly 21 years of experience providing end-to-end application and system solutions. Yolanda has a huge passion for data management and analytics, which led to her current position as an Engineering Manager in the HDF R&D department for Hortonworks; a leading innovator in enterprise-ready open data platforms and applications.
Yolanda is also active in the open source community as a developer and PMC member on the Apache NiFi project.In addition to her work in private industry, Yolanda is committed to education and public service as demonstrated in her volunteerism with local and national organizations including Black Girls Code, BDPA, the City of Atlanta, and Technologists of Color, where she serves as Co-Founder and Advisor. Over the years she has delivered many classes to local children in the Atlanta Metropolitan area and educational workshops for adults.
In addition to all things tech Yolanda has great interest in audio/visual work and serves actively as a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, GA on its Media Ministry.Yolanda is a proud Terrapin, holding a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland College Park and a M.S. in Computer Systems Management from the University of Maryland, University College. She resides just outside of Atlanta with her husband Damon and their brand new puppy "Brownie".
