While there is a wealth of teaching materials available for learning computer programming, many of these resources miss the mark when meeting the needs of diverse learners. In order to meet the high demand for software developers in the market, it is in our interest to make programming more accessible to a wider and more diverse audience. This can be achieved using well-known scientific principles behind effective teaching. This presentation focuses on the bridge between educational psychology and teaching computer programming.
